NEO Senior Insurance Independent Insurance Agency

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about Medicare and how we work. Don't see your question? Just ask us.

What does it mean that you're an "independent" insurance agency?

It means we work for you, not for one insurance company. A captive agent can only sell one carrier's plans, whatever the fit. As an independent agency, NEO Senior Insurance represents multiple top-rated carriers — so we can compare Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and drug plans across the market and recommend what's genuinely best for your doctors, prescriptions, and budget.

Does it cost anything to work with you?

No. Our guidance is completely free to you. We're compensated by the insurance carriers, and your premium is exactly the same whether you enroll through us or directly with the company. The difference is that with us, you get a local licensed agent who compares your options and stays in your corner after you enroll.

What's the difference between Medicare Advantage and a Medicare Supplement?

Medicare Advantage (Part C) replaces how you receive your Medicare benefits: one plan from a private carrier, usually with a network, often including drug coverage and extras like dental and vision, frequently at a low or $0 premium. A Medicare Supplement (Medigap) works alongside Original Medicare, helping pay the deductibles and coinsurance Medicare doesn't — with the freedom to see any doctor in the country who accepts Medicare. Neither is "better" — it depends on your health, budget, doctors, and travel. That conversation is exactly what we're here for.

I'm turning 65. When do I need to do something?

Your Initial Enrollment Period runs seven months: the three months before your birthday month, your birthday month, and the three months after. Enrolling on time matters — missing your window can mean permanent late-enrollment penalties on Part B and Part D. If you're still working with employer coverage, different rules may apply. Call us a few months before you turn 65 and we'll map out your exact timeline for free.

Can I change my plan after I've enrolled?

Yes, at set times. The Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 – December 7) lets anyone switch plans for the following year. Medicare Advantage members also get an Open Enrollment window (January 1 – March 31) to make one change. And certain life events — moving, losing coverage, certain eligibility changes — open a Special Enrollment Period. We'll tell you which windows apply to you.

Will my doctors and prescriptions be covered?

That's the first thing we check — before we ever recommend a plan. We verify your doctors and hospitals are in the plan's network and run your exact medication list through the plan's drug formulary, so there are no surprises at the pharmacy counter or the front desk.

How do you find me the best plan?

We start with your needs — doctors, prescriptions, budget, how you like to travel — then compare the plans available in the Cuyahoga Falls area across the carriers we represent. We look at true annual cost, not just the monthly premium: deductibles, copays, drug tiers, and out-of-pocket maximums. Then we show you the strongest options side by side, in plain English.

Do you help after I enroll — with claims or billing problems?

Absolutely — this is where having a local agent really pays off. Billing issue, denied claim, pharmacy problem, lost card: call us first at (330) 571-0108. We know who to contact at the carriers and we'll work the problem with you. You'll never be left to navigate an 800 number alone.

Should I review my plan every year?

Yes. Plans change every year — premiums, drug lists, networks, and benefits are all reshuffled each fall. The plan that fit perfectly last year may not be your best option this year. We offer a free annual review before the enrollment deadline and give you a straight answer: stay or switch.

Do you only serve Cuyahoga Falls?

Cuyahoga Falls is home base, but we're licensed throughout Ohio and serve clients across Summit County and Northeast Ohio — Stow, Akron, Hudson, Tallmadge, and beyond. We're happy to meet at our Graham Road office, by phone, or virtually.

Still have questions? Let's talk.

No pressure, no jargon — just a local licensed agent in Cuyahoga Falls who'll give you a straight answer, free of charge.
